Trim and fine finish work where every line is clean

Baseboards, crown, casings, doors and built-ins with sharp lines and a smooth coat. Trim-only jobs are one of our most asked-for.

Chapter 01

Why trim is where a paint job gets judged

People rarely study a wall. They study the edges: where the baseboard meets the floor, where the casing meets the wall, where the window frame meets the glass. Trim is small in area and huge in impression, so every flaw there reads as a flaw in the whole house.

The usual failures are easy to spot once you know them. Brush marks and drips frozen into a glossy coat. Caulk gaps open at the corners. Trim color creeping onto the wall because the line was freehanded. Old gloss that has yellowed and no longer matches the fresh paint beside it.

How we get a line that holds

Fine finish coatings use specialized application techniques and premium materials to build an ultra-smooth, consistent surface. Before any of that, the trim is cleaned, sanded and filled so the coat has something honest to sit on. Then we use professional masking techniques, quality brushes and steady hands to hold the line between trim and wall.

The photo above is one of our finished exterior jobs: light grey lap siding meeting bright white trim around the French doors. That crisp edge between trim and siding is the same cut line we hold on baseboards and casings indoors. Trim-only painting is one of our most popular services, so you don't need to repaint the walls to get it.

Floors, furniture and fixtures are protected before we start, and the crew cleans up when the work is done. Ramon, who runs the jobs with his Dad and the crew, walks the finished trim with you at the end so you can run your eye along every edge.

Chapter 03

Keeping trim sharp and knowing when it is due

Trim takes more contact than any wall: hands on door casings, vacuum heads on baseboards, chair backs, door swings. A harder-wearing sheen on trim wipes cleaner than flat wall paint, which is part of why fine finish coatings suit it so well.

It's due again when chips show at the door edges, when white has gone yellow beside a newer wall color, or when caulk lines have opened at the miters. If you're also thinking about walls, our interior painting crew can do both in one visit. Otherwise, call (509) 910-1408 and we'll look at just the trim.

Trim, answered

Not sure whether your trim needs a fine finish coat or a refresh? Ask us at (509) 910-1408.

Fine finish coatings use specialized application techniques and premium materials to achieve an ultra-smooth, consistent surface, the kind of finish you want on trim, doors and built-ins that people see up close and touch every day.

Absolutely. Trim-only painting is one of our most popular services. A fresh trim coat sharpens a room by itself, and we protect the walls and floors while we work.

We use professional masking techniques, quality brushes and steady hands. The line between trim and wall is the first thing the eye checks, so it gets the most care.
