Interior painting for homes people are still living in
One accent wall or the whole house, patched, sanded, cut in clean and finished around the people who live there.
Chapter 01
Where an interior paint job goes wrong
Most interior paint jobs that disappoint fail before the first coat goes on. Nail holes get painted over instead of filled. Dust is left on a sanded patch, so the new color wears a rough scar. The ceiling line wobbles where tape came off too late, and the baseboard picks up a fringe of wall color because nobody protected it properly.
The other failure is the one nobody photographs: the house itself. Furniture stacked in the middle of a room, plastic on the floor for a week, and no clear answer to what happens tomorrow. Paint is a few days of your life, and it shouldn't feel like a takeover.

How we prepare, cut in and finish a room
Every room starts with surface preparation and cleaning. We patch, fill and sand imperfections, then protect floors, furniture and fixtures before a can is opened. Most of the furniture moving is part of the job: pieces come away from the walls, everything is covered with drop cloths, and it all goes back when the painting is done.
Then walls, ceilings and trim get painted, with detailed cutting-in so the lines between wall, ceiling and trim stay clean. The job ends with a final inspection and a walkthrough together, and complete cleanup. Occupied Home Expertise is on our own list of what we offer: we work efficiently and respectfully in homes that are still being lived in, to keep the disruption to your daily life small.
Color is the part people worry about most, so we help with it. Three of the five Google reviewers quoted on this site mention being guided on color, and complete color guidance is part of how Ramon and the crew work.
Chapter 03
How long it lasts and when it is due again
A single room is usually a day or two. A whole-home repaint runs three to seven days, depending on how many rooms there are and how much prep each one needs. The on-site quote and project planning steps settle the timeline before any work starts, so the schedule isn't a surprise.
You'll know a room is due when the traffic areas around switches and door frames are scuffed, when patches flash a different sheen from the rest of the wall, or when the ceiling has gone dingy against fresh trim. Kitchens and bathrooms show it first because of steam and splatter. Carol Thompson noted that the crew offers touch-ups if anything gets missed, and that is how we think about the walkthrough: it's the point where you tell us what you see.
“Ramon and team were very helpful with color selection, making sure we would be happy.” Christian Smith, Google review
